Many have asked me, why “threadapeutic“? Why such a complicated name? “Bikin panik,” my patron joked.
“Threadapeutic” is a portmanteau, or a linguistic blend, of “thread” and “therapeutic”. After all, sewing with needle and thread is my favorite form of therapy for me. Sewing lifted me up when I was at one of my lowest points in life. My good friend, Lisa, was the one persistent enough to push me to do what I was afraid of. (I think can elaborate a little – what exactly were you afraid of?) She would encourage me to “take baby steps”, and that has become my mantra for tackling any challenge.
So I started sewing making small accessories for my daughters who were then abroad. One thing led to another, threadapeutic was born. 🙂
